More Wedding Photojournalism

Here are some more samples of photos from the wedding I photographed this past weekend. As always, shot very photojournalistically.

Good Morning San Antonio

Beautiful landscapes full of quite spots in everybody's life.

street grease

tagging is a huge thing in sa. to some it is art(well some of it) and to others it is just trash. I was humored by how one business has dealt with the defacing of a back door.

Great photos you guys posted!

Great photos you guys posted! I love to see them. Amazing, creative and informational.
That's it! Photography is a life style. You live in it and if you immerse yourself in it, it becomes part of your life. Eat, read, learn, sleep, exercise, take shower, take photographs. It is so natural, and very soon, you will feel uncomfortable if you do not carry a camera with you when you leave your home or apartment.

I can't wait to see you all come back with more great photos next week.
Here's next week's topic:

Interesting shadows of people
(must be taken within the week after it is assigned, do not turn in archive photos.)

Deadline for posting photo: 10/4 Monday before 10 a.m.

I have a photo I took last Friday. Not a great shot, but it illustrates a slice of life.

Henry Benson's talk on the night of Oct. 5

Photo folks,

World renown photographer Harry Benson is giving a talk at Texas Lutheran University at Seguin on Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. I will be attending this event. Any of you want to car pool with me, please let me know. It would be nice to know whether you are going or not.

Nature's Beauty

While driving around with my husband we spotted this deer in the woods. My husband stopped the car and I took this photo from the car.

I got out of the car and slowly started walking toward the deer and when she looked up at me I stopped and took this photo.

As I started moving closer I saw this deer looking at me.

The buck appeared and I was just about to take his picture when I heard a snorting sound and they all started to run away. I didn't realize how many deer there were. I think I counted about seven or eight deer as they were running away.

On our way back home we drove past this windmill and I thought it was a pretty scene. I like being out in the country where it's so peaceful.

This two scenes are on i-35 on my way home (Nuevo Laredo, Tamps., Mexico)

Early Mornings, Beautiful Scenery

Every morning on my way towards school, I pass by these bushes located next to the VIA Transit Bus Station. Usually, I simply just pass by them but this time I decided to drop my backpack on the ground and stop to take a closer look at the pretty pink flowers that had already bloomed.

A Beautiful Scene

Every day on the way to school I drive past the Olmos dam. I always thought it was so cool so I decided to pull over and explore the other day.

Mesmerizing Beauty

Did anyone else notice how incredibly beautiful the moon glowed last night~?

At around 11:30 p.m., I stepped outside my house to gaze upon the mesmerizing beauty of the moon hovering in the night sky. I wanted to capture the moment, so I decided to take this opportunity and take a few pictures (Which would also help me become comfortable with the camera and learn more about its features). I spent a lot of time switching the settings for different results. It was a lot of fun! At moments like these, I realize how photography truly is a major part of my life and something that I love deeply.

Several groups of clouds stretched over the night sky as well. Every now and then, they would pass by the moon covering her momentarily like a veil. She (The Moon) reminded me of a blushing bride covering her face every now and then rather shyly and yet her beauty was so striking, unable to be avoided.

And here is another picture of the moon glowing brightly. The best part, and also the most enjoyable, was seeing how changing the settings affected the overall result of the image. I hope you all enjoy this pictures! Thank you.

Hi everyone, I liked this blog website so much, I decided to use it for my own professional photography blog I have on my website. Until now, I was creating my blog from scratch and it took a lot of time. Here's one of the photos I just posted to my new blog. If you'd like to see more, just go to my blog here:

I also invite you to start following my blog too! Thanks!

Here are three more photos for everyone to check out.

The first is a picture of the sunset today. Just amazing! I caught the sun peeking through a hole in the cloud. San Antonio has some of the most beautiful clouds I've ever seen, and almost on a daily basis!

The second photo is a portrait of my wife I took recently. Thought you all might enjoy looking at it.

The third photo is a portrait I took of Dr. Zeigler, the president of SAC, this week. He was kind enough to pose for me for my portrait class. It took it with the anticipation of him using it as his formal school portrait. Who knows.

See you in Class on Monday!
Rick Barrera stands proudly besides his
1974 Caprice. He has toiled for the last two years and spent over $14,000 restoring and upgrading his ride. He is a member of a San Antonio car club called Midnite Illusions.
Theo Sanchez stands beside his 1985 Cutlass. He has owned the car for many years but only became serious about "pimping" it for the past 2 years. So far he has spent upwards of $8,000.00 to restore his car to it's former glory; then surpassing expectations and taking it to the next level.

A beautiful Scene on my way to School! :)

A little eye-candy in the morning:

Having to walk six blocks to get to school because of the mayor lack of parking spaces at 10am does not thrill me too much!!! But is not so bad when you have scenes like this to look at!

Beauty at my Work

These are a few photos from the wedding I shot this weekend in Maryland. I consider myself a wedding photojournalist as apposed to a wedding photographer, and I feel there is a huge difference! I don't just try to take pretty pictures, I take photos that tell a story and captures the definitive moment. The photo of the bride looking at herself in the mirror here is a very good example of that. This photo is not posed at all and was captured in the moment.

The other two photos are formal shots and were indeed posed, but I still took them in a way that looked candid and told a story. When I setup and take formal shots like this, I always have a story in my mind that acts as my guide.

This week's post

Welcome to our class blog. If you have not sign in. Do it now.
This is  place for you to express yourself and communicate with everyone in the class. You will learn from each other. The possibility of photography is endless. Show your perspective of this medium.

In this beginning stage, I will expect you post at least once each week. In order to avoid a few individuals might get too dominating the post, I will have to limit only 10 photos posting per week from each person.

This week's post topic is:
A beautiful scene (can be thing or people) I see on my way to school or work.

Deadline is next Monday (9/27)  before class time.

To give an example (by all means, you can do better than me), I am posting one here:
I walked by this SAC sign post this afternoon and the lighting was just perfect. I like the shadow of the tree in front of it and the bush of flowers accompanied it.
